Both teams could not have started the season worse the Devils come in losers of 5 straight games but luckily they have now dropped a game at home this season. The Devils are off a tough road loss to the Boston Bruins dropping that game 3-0 and this Devils team has had trouble all season scoring goals as they have just scored only 3 goals in their last 3 games.
Being last among 16 teams in the Eastern Conference is not a recipe for success that is for sure. Devils will look to get a win and some confidence against this Panthers team. Panthers are the slightly better team and this was thought to be their year to contend for a playoff spot but early on that does not seem the case.

Friday night saw the Panthers get outscored by the Sabers 2-1 in the final period losing then eventually in the shootout 3-2 then they followed it up in their next game with another shootout loss to the Islanders falling in that game 3-2. This is the third game in a row on the road as Florida will avoid all losses on the road but that will be difficult.
Panthers used their back up goal tender Sam Montembeault on Saturday but I expect their starting goalie Sergei Bobrovsky to be back between the pipes when the Panthers take the ice on Monday afternoon. Panthers will look for improved play from their defense on Monday as they have not looked good in key spots.
