The Philadelphia Eagles open up their 2019 campaign at home with the Washington Redskins in town for a NFC East divisional battle. The Eagles shutout the Redskins in their last meeting last December 24-0.

Head Coach Doug Pederson did not show much this preseason and a 1-3 record showed that. The Eagles final 53-man roster did not include fan favorite RB Wendell Smallwood. Philadelphia kept four running backs which included Howard, Clement, Sanders, and the veteran Darren Sproles. The Washington Redskins have claimed Wendell Smallwood off waivers and have released Marshall in order to make room. Smallwood should see some action against his former team at Lincoln Financial Field. The Redskins also ended their preseason with a 1-3 record as well.

Washington will turn to Case Keenum to start to season as the starting QB. The Redskins cut WR Josh Doctson and will bring in some younger targets for Keenum. Washington will look for Steven Sims Jr. who was an undrafted to have a breakout season. The Redskins also have hopes that Sims can bring some life to the special teams unit.
