The Denver Broncos are set to visit Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California for an AFC West clash against the Oakland Raiders. The Denver Broncos struggled in the preseason as they went 2-3, and a huge reason for their failures was their offensive struggles as they finished 31st in points scored as they only averaged 8.4 PPG. The one positive that the Broncos can bring out of the preseason is the fact that their defense ranked 6th in the NFL in points allowed, and they will need to translate that success in a loaded division.
The Denver Broncos will have veteran QB Joe Flacco under center for this game, but we haven’t seen much playing time out of him in a Broncos uniform as he only attempted 15 passes during the preseason. The Broncos found a pair of undrafted free agents who could be important parts of the defense this season as Josh Watson contributed a team-high 25 tackles while Malik Reed pitched in 4 sacks.

The Oakland Raiders had a very good preseason under 2nd-year coach John Gruden as they went 3-1, and they have a lot of positives to bring into the regular season as they finished within the top 10 in both points scored and points allowed. The Raiders made a lot of moves in the offseason which has given both sides of the ball a jolt of life and should lead to a better season.
The Oakland Raiders will start QB Derek Carr who saw only a few snaps in the preseason, but he showed his knowledge of the offense by completing both pass attempts for 40 yards and a TD. Oakland did not see any action out of all-pro WR Antonio Brown, but he should change the whole demeanor of the offense. A big problem for the Raiders defense last season was their lack of a pass rush, but they added Clelin Ferrell with their 1st round draft pick this year.
