Tale of two seasons for the Virginia Cavaliers. They started off the season on fire winning their first 4 games in a row beating a very good Pitt team and what we thought at the time was a solid Florida State team. Virginia’s big stumbling block this season came at Notre Dame where that game ended up defining their season as they went on to lose a close one in South Bend then the next week in a let down spot lost to Miami 17-9.
After the loss then to Louisville this Virginia team tore it up down the stretch winning 4 games in a row including a nice win at a very good North Carolina team that is well coach by Mack Brown. Virginia though got brought back to reality when they faced off with the powerful Clemson Tigers who used them to send a statement to the College Football world that they were the best team. Virginia got crushed in that game 62-17.

Up until that game Virginia had played very well of defense basically holding teams to around 21 points a game. This will be Virginia’s first Orange Bowl appearance. This game will be played in Florida’s backyard at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens Florida. Florida comes into this game looking to get their program back to elite status.
Florida has had a good season but I worry that they don’t get up for this game yes its the Orange Bowl but I believe they will look past what they feel is an inferior opponent. Florida started there season beating in state rival Miami and also took down hated Florida State 40-17 in blowout fashion. Also on their resume is a big win over Auburn at home 24-13. Gators lost to LSU but who hasn’t lost to LSU?
