The Alamo bowl is not what the Utah Utes pictured themselves in this year when the season started so to say this team will not be up for this game I think is an understatement. There no question that Utah is the better team and has had a great season but they had two losses that really defy logic first one came early on in the year when they lost to USC 30-23 on the road.
Then late in the year in a must win spot they lost to Oregon 37-15 the world seemed on Utah and a win their and they would’ve been taking on LSU and not Oklahoma. During the year Utah had nice wins over Washington on the road Arizona State and Arizona good solid PAC-12 wins. They also went to BYU and won a tough in state rival game.

Utah is very talented on defense giving up 15 or less in 8 of their 13 games so expect this game to be low scoring. Texas comes into this game glad to be there and should be fully pumped to play. They got the spot thanks to Oklahoma winning the conference and Baylor getting invited to play in the Sugar bowl so that gave Texas the come up.
Texas coach Tom Herman has really got this Longhorns team headed in the right direction. Tom Herman has his seniors ready to go in a game that is almost as good as a home game as this bowl game gets played in San Antonio Texas. Last time Texas played in the Alamo Bowl was 2013 Mack Browns last game as head coach.
