Did Purdue lose a chance to make it big last year? That could be the thing that floats around Boilermaker land this year. The Boilermakers are only bringing back 4 starters from the offense last year. What is even worse is the Boilermakers have Elijad Sindelar stepping in at quarterback on the year and while he is a senior he has some tremendous shoes to fill.
One balancing act that the Boilermakers have is on the defensive side of the ball. While the defense was not the best last year, they did manage to shut down a prolific Ohio State offense. That should be a building block for the Boilermakers as they did not lose a ton of talent and the defense has some star talent that can step up to fill the shoes of those departed players.

With Nevada this is a year that gets to see a new backfield as the quarterback and running back are new. It also gets to see a new center and right side of the line. The receivers are coming back intact from last season and so is the left side of the line. That should allow the Wolfpack to have a decent anchor point, but provide Cristian Solano quite a few targets that should be able to make up any mistakes he makes.
The Wolfpack could be carved up defensively this year in the air game. The Wolfpack had managed to build up their defense quite a bit compared to what they have been doing. However, a problem that can creep up is the defensive backfield that gave up 245 yards a game last year, is only returning one starter from last year and has 3 safeties slated to start to help counter the liability here.
