2018 Notre Dame football the Fighting Irish look to improve off last years disappointing 9 win season that culminated with the Irish beating a talented 17th ranked LSU Tigers team but 10-3 is not where the Irish want to be they want to be playing for a championship. The loss to Miami really took this team off the tracks in 2017.
In my opinion Brian Kelly is still on the hot seat this season as last season barely kept him with a job after a horrendous 4-8 year with no bowl. I have a good friend that always every year he thinks Notre Dame will go undefeated and I don't think I have ever got him admitting that the Irish would be in trouble in any game or match-up on deck.

Just for bettors information the Irish come in at +5000 odds to win the national title a bet that I would save my money on for sure because that's not happening. There are just too many teams with a more talented and really a easier path to the playoffs. Notre Dame has issues at quarter back as Winbush last season completed less then 50% of his passes and if there is anything I learned about Brian Kelly he is not afraid to change starting QB's.
Notre Dame lost 2 huge studs on the offensive line in McGlinchey and Nelson luckily there other 3 offensive linemen are very good prospects. Even though there are big questions on the Irish offensive side of the ball their defense returns 9 starters from last season and should be the anchor to this team. Defense wins championships and that's what the Irish are banking on.

As far as the schedule goes the Irish always play a tough schedule although a little weaker this season in my opinion the Irish still have big time games with Michigan,Florida State and Stanford all at home and the lone hard road game will be USC to close out the year. The over under win total for Notre Dame is 9.5 with the under being a -140 juice lay so with the plus money on the over they are hoping probably to get this huge fan base betting the over which in all likely hood will not happen.
I just do not think the Irish have enough talent on offense to get the job done this season and I see Notre Dame going 9-3 this season as I think this total comes down to the USC game and that will be the straw that breaks the camels back. Take the under for a 9 unit wager.
