The Fighting Irish are a team that has a great offense returning. The line only has to replace one player and the running back will be new this year as well. A couple of receivers are coming back to start the game for the Fighting Irish as well. Ian Book is a name that not many fans have heard before, but he was able to chuck 2 touchdowns a game on average for 8 games last year and that was really impressive.
Defensively the Irish will have to be concerned about the interior of the line. The interior which was a strength last year is now looking at 2 new starters. The good news is both of the new starters are juniors and that allows for them to get the experience this year and have a good chance of starting the games off with some great learning done and headline the defense next year.

Louisville will be looking to see if the offense can improve from last year. The Cardinals offense was ranked 108th in the nation last year and only managed to get ranked 121st in the scoring. The Cardinals offense though is returning fairly intact with only 5 new starters on the year and the bulk of those new players are coming from the line.
With the defense the Cardinals are a team that has some defensive headaches last year. The Cardinals are definitely going to need to improve on that defense from last year and while it will be a challenge with the number of starters coming back it should definitely be a little bit better than last season.
