Mississippi Rebels vs. Memphis Tigers

NCAAF: 12:00 PM EST

TV: ABC
Latest Odds : MEM -6

Ole Miss had some struggles last season and those could creep back up this year. However, one major issue that had to be addressed and may require some adjustment time was the fact that the offenseis only returning 3 starters. Out of those only one was a position player and the other 2 are the right side of the offensive line.

The Rebels defense is changing up some as well from what they have been sitting in to a 3-4 scheme this year. However, the new coordinator, Mike MacIntyre, will have some work to do. The defense of the Rebels has finished under the 109th ranked mark in almost every season since 2017.

Memphis plans on seeing how well a senior running back is able to do this year in his first year starting. Patrick Taylor Jr. will finally get his crack at the starting lineup and all that the Tigers hope he can do is have a fraction of the production that was found in Darrell Henderson. If he is able to reach that level of production then the Tigers offense can easily runaway in the games this year.

Last season the defense for the Tigers did have some mistakes, but what can you expect for a younger defense? Now the defense has a year of experience and they are returning mainly intact. That is going to make it easier for the Tigers to have a defense that is able to control the tempo of the game, but also have the experience this season to recognize the plays.

Recent Betting Trends:

Rebels are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.

Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.

Under is 19-9-1 in Rebels last 29 road games.

Over is 10-2 in Tigers last 12 non-conference games.

Free Betting Pick: Memphis Tigers -6

The Tigers defense is coming back largely intact and the Tigers are bringing back a decent senior to carry the ball in Taylor. Compare that to the Rebels who are in what many would consider an adjustment year and with a defense that has to improve over what they did last season, but have a new scheme to learn and it is easy to see the Tigers running this game. Final Score, Memphis Tigers win and cover ATS 34-10.
