Miami-OH Redhawks vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

NCAAF: 7:30 PM EST

Aug. 31, 2019

TV: FS1
Latest Odds : IOWA -21.5 Total 50

The Redhawks are a team that is going to have to rely heavily on the way that Chuck Martin is able to develop a quarterback. The reason why the Redhawks have to develop a quarterback as none of the quarterbacks on the roster have thrown a pass in college. The supporting cast is not going to be much help either as the running back is new as well and only 2 wide outs come back.

Defensively the Redhawks are ripe to be picked apart. Half of the line is new and so is half the line backing corps. Those are definitely going to prove to be a problem for the Redhawks and it could lead to the team being torn apart because of the lack of run prevention. The secondary returns relatively intact and should rank highly again this year.

Iowa will be looking forward to Nate Stanley coming back again. He is a senior this season, which is a downer for the Hawkeyes, but the fact that he threw 26 touchdowns each year in the 2 previous years will help out. The other problem for the Hawkeyes is the running backs and 1 receiver are new this year to the starting jobs.

Defensively the Hawkeyes are only bringing back a linebacker, 2 corners, and a safety. That could prove to be a disaster for the team, but the line will be stocked full of juniors and seniors who never managed to make it to the starting rotation. In fact, the Hawkeyes only have one sophomore starting this year defensively that did not start last year and that is in the strong safety position.

Free Betting Pick: Iowa Hawkeyes -21.5

The Hawkeyes are going to have to hold an audition like performance at some positions. However, one thing that is going to become a key factor in this game is the inexperience at quarterback for the Redhawks. Look for that inexperience to really show up and cost the team the chance to upset a Big-Ten opponent in the opening week. Final Score, Iowa Hawkeyes win and cover ATS 31-7.
