FAU Owls vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

NCAAF: 12:00 PM EST

Aug. 31, 2019

TV: FOX
Latest Odds : OSU -28

Florida Atlantic has lost a lot of the offensive punch it had last season. The Owls lost the two leading rushers they had last year. What else does not help the Owls out is they ended up losing their leading receiver as well from last year. Florida Atlantic does have a couple of seniors stepping in and a junior, but it definitely will be hard to fill the offensive gap.

The Owls defense is in a rebuilding stage this year as well. That will not help the defense out a lot as the team has a new defensive coordinator, Glenn Spencer, but the team that started to falter last year is only returning 5 starters from the defense last year that slipped as the season wore down.

Ohio State has been looking towards this season with some apprehension. The Buckeyes have a new head coach in Ryan Day, but also have to replace a lot of the offensive line with only a single returning starter. What else does not help the Buckeyes is they are projected to start Justin Fields, a sophomore who will have a lot of support from Dobbins and Mack.

With the defense the Buckeyes are going to have to improve in what they had last year. The downside is the Owls are replacing lot of their offense this year and will not push the Buckeyes defense. However, what could be a telling piece of information is the Buckeyes defense is led by Al Washington for the linebackers and he is coming from the team up North according to the Buckeyes.

Recent Betting Trends:

Owls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games.

Buckeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games.

Over is 8-3 in Owls last 11 road games.

Under is 4-1 in Buckeyes last 5 vs. CUSA.

Free Betting Pick: Ohio State Buckeyes -28

The Buckeyes are playing at the Shoe and the Buckeyes are playing with a fairly new offense and defense. However, one thing that is steady is the fact that Ryan Day was able to lead the Buckeyes last year when Meyer was not in charge. That game day experience and the trust the players have in the plan Day has formulated will definitely help the Buckeyes bring home a win here. Final Score, Ohio State Buckeyes win and cover ATS 45-10.
