The defense was able to play really well last year compared to what they have done in the past and have actually looked like a team that can contain some of the bigger name teams. The downside is the line backing group is completely new on the year.

Nick Saban is hungry and will look to avoid embarrassing himself and Alabama again this year. The National Championship game was one that saw the Crimson Tide get blown out of the water and left a lot of the players who could have jumped looking to come back for the pride. What is really impressive is the Crimson Tide have Tua Tagovailoa coming back to guide the team from his quarterback position.
The defense that was scorched by the Clemson team is coming back relatively intact. However, the Crimson Tide do have some new faces coming into the mix and one of those is a fireplug of a player in DJ Dale, the 314 pound freshman who is projected to start right away at nose tackle for the Tide.
