TV: ESPN
Latest Odds : FSU -5.5 Total 53

On Saturday August 31, the Boise State Broncos visit TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida to play the Florida State Seminoles in the college football season opener for both.

Boise State must replace it quarterback Brett Rypien who moved on to the NFL. Chase Cord will take over for Rypien. The starting running back will be Andrew Van Buren, who was a backup last season with the Broncos. The offensive line returns most of last year’s starters but is the only part of the offense that is not new. The defense returns seven starters and will be the strength of the Broncos. Three of four down linemen return with the top player Curtis Weaver.

Eight of 11 starters return for the Seminoles on offense. Starting at quarterback for FSU will be last season’s backup James Blackman. The talented signal caller has good size at 6-foot-5 and could be just what the Seminoles offense needs. Cam Akers will be the starting running back. Blackman’s top target will be wide receiver Tamorrion Terry. The defense at FSU returns eight starters as well. The top returning players are DT Marvis Wilson, CB Stanford Samuels III and LB DeCalon Brooks.

Both teams have several new faces on offense. Nevertheless the Seminoles have key skill position players back at running back and wide receiver while Boise State will have new faces at quarterback, running back and wide receiver. Florida State also is returning 8 of 11 starters from the defense, which will help FSU slow down the new Boise State offense. Final Score Prediction, Florida State Seminoles win and cover ATS 33-24
