Remember Aquino was the first MLB player to hit 8 home runs over his first 12 big league games.
Then in the offseason Reds added Japanese outfielder Shogo Akiyama to a 3 year contract. This 31 year old is in his prime and should produce dividends for the Reds. He has a lifetime batting average in Japan of .301 with 116 home runs,251 doubles and 513 RBI’s. He played with the famous Seibu Lions over his last 9 seasons. Reds have four outfielders competing for 3 starting spots,Jesse Winkler, Nick Senzel and the fore mentioned Aristides Aquino.

Cincinnati Reds also added multi time all star Mike Moustakas who is off another nice year that saw him hit 35 home runs and knock in 87 RBI’s. Let’s also not forget the addition of Nick Castellanos who had a under the radar season for the Tigers before getting traded to the Cubs for the playoff push.
All in all the Reds who did win 75 games last year added to their already potent lineup let’s not forget about veterans Joey Votto and Eugenia Suarez this team can compete with any team in the big leagues right now and to me another strength on this team is their bullpen and starting pitching. Sonny Gray had a tremendous season for the Reds coming over from the Yankees last offseason. Gray and young gun arm Luis Castillo and add in Trevor Bauer can hang with anyone’s top 3 in their rotation.

Bauer though has question marks coming into this season but I believe that will only motivate him out their he is a highly emotional player and having had struggles last season should lead to a breakout rebirth this season. Reds were a team that was very sharp to bet last season and I took a lot of tough losses with them but I will be riding them a lot early until the odds makers catch up with this team. Look for them to win the Central Division as I am playin this Reds team to go over in wins and I will also sprinkle some on them to win the National League Pennant and the World Series.
